PSM-2 Meyer Sound

PSM-2 Meyer Sound

The Meyer Sound PSM-2 is a self-powered stage monitor loudspeaker designed to meet critical requirements in professional applications.

The PSM-2 affords high acoustic output (139 dB peak SPL at 1 meter) with a medium-Q horn, providing even coverage in both the horizontal and vertical planes. Its phase-corrected frequency response of 50 Hz to 18 kHz enables accurate reproduction of both vocals and instruments. The low-profile cabinet tilts at 35°, 55° or 90° from the stage to permit optimal placement relative to the listener.

The PSM-2’s high-frequency section comprises a 4-inch diaphragm compression driver coupled to a symmetrical 50-degree (-6 dB points) constant-directivity horn. A robust 12-inch cone driver, mounted in an optimally vented enclosure, reproduces low frequencies. A two-channel class AB/H amplifier employing complementary power MOSFET output stages and providing total peak output of 1240 watts (620 watts per channel) powers the PSM-2. TruPower limiting technology maximizes reliability and component life. The PSM-2 also incorporates Meyer Sound’s Intelligent AC system for automatic voltage selection, EMI filtering, soft current turn-on and surge suppression. The rugged cabinet is constructed from birch plywood and coated with a durable, textured black finish.

PSM-2 performance can be supervised using the RMS remote monitoring system. This enables users at a computer terminal to monitor such parameters as limiting activity, power output, voltage, temperature, fan speed and driver status.
